In many Brandenburg villages, as here in the Havelstadt Zehdenick district of Klein-Mutz, there are simple farmhouses and more representative farmhouses. In recent decades, they have often been inappropriately renovated and painted plain gray and colorless throughout.

This historic house shows the difference a renovation concept can make. It was built in 1877 by a farmer named Liese after the previous building had burned down. In contrast to the neighboring, typical square farmyards in the region, which were built in brick-framed construction throughout, the building owner had chosen a more attractive approach for the home on his farm. The house was given a neoclassical facade on the street side and even a small staircase leading to the entrance.

150 years later, the current homeowner repaired the deterioration of this original style facade together with a dedicated painter and plasterer company and gave the building a suitable face again. By focusing on the form and color design of a high-quality facade, the house has once again become a real eye-catcher. The shades of gray and white are perfectly coordinated, while the blue-green of the beautiful wooden door provides a harmonious accent. The split windows, the newly added and framing framing pilaster strips and cornice bands, but above all the sophisticated color scheme give the small house an almost noble appearance to make it stand out.

Here you can see what is possible when expert color design and craftsmanship meet everyday life.
