The Lambacher villa is located directly on Piazza Mercato, the marketplace of the small town of Chiusa in South Tyrol. “It was clear to us from the very beginning because of the prominent nature of the building: Our work here must be absolutely outstanding, something really great,” says Thomas Delmonego. The Lambacher family had commissioned his painting business with the renovation of the facade surfaces and interiors of the villa.
The project was divided into two main parts: interiors and facades. “Inside, we used plasterboard extensively, which we painted with the silicate paint Eurosil 1907,” says Thomas Delmonego. “The upper floor of the villa, in particular, is very bright due to all of the light coming through the windows, and a perfectly smooth wall surface is expected. With Eurosil, this worked excellently – the silicate paint is easy to process and covers very well.”
On the building’s exterior, the hinged window shutters were also renovated. They were made of coated PVC, which had become noticeably old and damaged in places. “We first made test coats with Lacryl Universal Primer 246 in our workshop. After a few attempts, we were able to quickly determine the perfect color shade. We then sprayed the shutters with Lacryl-PU Silk Matt Enamel 270 – and the great result speaks for itself,” stresses the painter. Ultrasil 1901 was used for the facade surfaces, ideal for historic buildings with old coatings.

Wooden elements below the roof and on the balcony were repainted. Here it was important to choose the right wood protection. The wood was to be given a shade of wood protection paint that corresponded to the sheets and cladding installed there by the tinsmith. These were treated with a metallic coating. “Here we chose Lignodur Varioguard Tix 510,” explains Delmonego. The galvanized iron railing of the balcony was equipped with 2K-Aqua Silk Matt Enamel 2388 – for a particularly resistant coating.
