The prominent location in the city, on Merzhauser Straße, sets the tone for the entire Vauban district in Freiburg. Due to its prominent position, a great deal rested on the design requirements for the town houses. The building ensemble impresses, thanks to its creative, innovative, and unique building design, that fully takes the specific requirements of this prelude to an urban situation into account.

The unconventional approach with its folding facade and the set decorative elements makes a good impression at the entry to the city. In the courtyard, this changes once more. The subtle color differences between the orange-brown wall elements underlines the variety of the facade. The color accenting was very carefully selected and has been precisely implemented. The warm, inviting character of the ensemble and the harmonious collage of materials lends the town houses a pleasant, welcoming atmosphere, despite their size.
