What a stroke of luck, Ludwigshafen has a new colored landmark that spreads its energy far and wide. In 2013, the design of the new bunker building at the waste-to-energy plant in Ludwigshafen was created following a fire catastrophe, during which the old rainbow coloring of the concrete block as a logo was destroyed. The new bunker building shines in a new glory and executes the energy transformation of the elements into the color intensity of 74 shades magnificently. The stencil technique was used to combine the countless nuances of the interlaced mosaic color field. This area literally explodes within the gray of the complete industrial block – only visually, but in 74 effective color shades, that have been interlaced with each other expertly as a color field mosaic. Energy from waste, energy from the four elements earth, fire, wind and water – the design visualizes this powerfully. The world of color spreads out fantastically, the color energy unfolds in a slightly garish and youthful way in contrast to the reserved grisaille of the industrial block. This object in Ludwigshafen shows once and for all that vibrant color, when used in a nuanced approach, can take on value like a piece of concrete art.
